Zero Waste Kitchen Swaps
Looking to cut down your waste in the kitchen ?
You came to the right place !
As I was transitioning to zero waste living, I have started looking for sustainable products in my area. It was not an easy task 😅 but eventually I stumbled upon a facebook page for a local business in Casablanca with zero waste products 🙏🏻 @adamoecologiquesimple .
Obviously, I got my First zero waste kitchen starter pack from them
This pack included the following items:
✅Beeswax wrap ( They came in 3 different sizes)
This natural alternative can replace plastic wrap to keep food fresh, cover bowls, jars... You only need to heat them up using the palms of your hands to shape them around your containers.
They are easy to clean , do not take space to be stored and can be used for up to a year with proper care.
Once they stop sticking , you could refresh them with beeswax to start reusing them again.
✅Charlotte covers ( They came in 3 different sizes)
My absolute favorite to replace plastic wrap for different uses like cover bowls and dishes , whether you want to store your food in the refrigerator or in a closet.
You can also order the sizes to your likings to fit your bowls and containers.
They are very practical, machine washable and you could use them for years to come!
✅ Reusable kitchen towels (pack of 6)
I was a big consumer of paper towels 🤦🏻♀️
Even though I already have some cloth towels,I got these to solemnly replace my paper towels use.
They absorb liquid pretty well, still in good condition after SO MANY washes ( over a year ) .
They also have snaps so you can put them on a standing holder. I liked that idea at first but now I find it more practical to just fold them .
These simple swaps may seem insignificant but in the long run they will not only help you cut down so much plastic and single use waste from your kitchen but also help you save money as you will no longer be spending money on single use products every month
